Frances Pierce was presented with the prestigious award for best overall preformance in NITL’s portfolio of postgraduate supply chain management (SCM) programmes at the recent DIT College of Engineering and Built Environment annual awards evening. This award is open to all those who graduated from NITL’s full-time M.Sc. programme in SCM (DT351) or the Executive Supply Chain Masters (DT352) during 2012 and is sponsored by the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport (CILT) in Ireland. Frances joined the full-time cohort during the 2011/12 academic year after over 20 years experience in a variety of supply chain roles in industry. She graduated with first class honours at the November 2012 ceremony and now works in a strategic purchasing and sourcing role at Mylan Pharmaceuticals in Dublin.

Prior to the recent awards evening Edward Sweeney of NITL commented that “this achievement is richly deserved and reflects Frances’ unique understanding of both the theory and practice of supply chain management. She not only achieved a first class honours M.Sc. degree but scored the highest overall mark of any of our 2012 graduates”. He also thanked CILT for its ongoing support of the award. At the ceremony, Frances commended NITL on its M.Sc. programme and said that “it is truly an honour to be recognised by DIT and NITL for achievement in such a respected, disciplined, relevant, innovative and progressive programme. It was my honour and privilege to have the support in my studies of very talented, dedicated and motivating academic staff who demand the highest standards”.
NITL wishes Frances well in her future endeavours and looks forward to collaborating with her in the future.
