NITL launched its online Knowledge Base in August 2011 (see http://www.nitl.ie/NITL_Launches_Knowledge_Base/Default.399.html). The download statistics for 2012 have just become available and show a very high level of usage of this resource. The table below shows the number of full text downloads by publication category and indicates that there were over 40,000 downloads of NITL’s scholarly output during the year.

These statistics confirm that the resource is being heavily used and proving valuable for students, academics and SCM professionals alike. NITL’s Knowledge Base is part of a wider DIT system known as ARROW (Archiving Research Resources on the Web). ARROW is a digital collection of publications and other forms of scholarly output produced by researchers across the DIT’s Colleges, Schools and Research Units. Interestingly, one book chapter from the NITL collection co-authored by Edward Sweeney (“E-Business in Supply Chain Management” – see http://arrow.dit.ie/nitlbk/3/) is amongst the all time top 10 downloads from the repository.
