Earlier this month, Edward Sweeney represented NITL at the 21st annual conference of the International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association (IPSERA). This year’s event was organized by NITL’s partners at the University of Naples Federico II in collaboration with the University of Naples Parthenope, the University of Catania and the Institute for Service Industry Research (IRAT) of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). It was hosted in Naples at the Congress Centre of the University of Naples Federico II from April 1st to 4th. IPSERA is widely recognised as an excellent forum for academics and practitioners who want to exchange ideas, research results and experiences in the fields of purchasing, procurement and supply chain management (SCM). Edward was a member of the Scientific Committee of the event. In addition to reviewing papers, he chaired sessions and acted as a discussant during conference sessions. He also presented the latest results of NITL’s ongoing collaborative work with Italian and Swedish colleagues in the field of green logistics. The paper was entitled “A case study investigation on purchasing green transport and logistics services” and was co-authored by Pietro Evangelista of IRAT-CNR and the University of Naples Federico II, along with Maria Huge-Brodin and Karin Isaksson of Linköping University in Sweden.
