New Cohorts Commence Postgraduate Programmes with NITL

(23 Oct 2013)

The latest supply chain management (SCM) postgraduates commenced their studies with NITL in recent weeks. This now brings the number of new cohorts for 2013 to six, the largest number in NITL’s 15 year history.

The full-time M.Sc. programme provides students with the opportunity to study all aspects of SCM intensively over a 12 month period (see http://www.nitl.ie/Fulltime_MSc_in_Supply_Chain_Management/Default.163.html for further information). NITL’s reputation as a leader in the field was witnessed by the record number of applications for entry in semester one of 2013/14. Admission to the programme was highly competitive as a result and NITL offers its congratulations to all those who were successful in securing a place. The new cohort comprises students from Ireland and elsewhere in the EU, as well as from the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent, the Middle East, Latin America, various African countries and China. This reflects the increasingly global nature of contemporary supply chains, as well as NITL’s growing reputation internationally.

NITL’s Executive M.Sc. programme is aimed at SCM professionals who aspire to being tomorrow’s supply chain leaders. It provides flexible and practical development of an advanced academic standard in all aspects of SCM (see http://www.nitl.ie/Executive_Masters_leading_to_MSc_in_Supply_Chain_Management/Default.61.html for further information). The new cohort comprises supply chain professionals from all key sectors of the Irish economy including food and beverage, life sciences, high-tech, retail and third party logistics. Companies represented in the most recent running of the introductory module in Dublin included Kerry Group, Coca-Cola, Accenture, Harvey Norman and DHL.

NITL’s programme co-ordinator Antonio de Linares welcomed all new programme participants and stated that “SCM has a massive role to play in the evolving global economic landscape. Graduates of our flagship Master’s programmes will be well placed to make a positive contribution in this environment. My colleagues and I in NITL wish all new participants every success as they embark on their learning journeys with us”.
