NITL’s ongoing research collaboration with its partners in Sweden and Italy has resulted in a new publication in the journal Small Business. Founded in 1987, this journal aims to disseminate knowledge about all aspects of small business based on a multi-disciplinary approach. The most recent issue of Small Business was based on papers that were presented during the 2012 Annual Conference of the International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association (IPSERA). As noted in the Guest Editorial of the issue, five papers were selected for this special issue from more than 80 that were presented at the conference.

The paper, entitled “Purchasing Green Transport and Logistics Services: Implications for Small Business”, was written by Pietro Evangelista, Maria Huge-Brodin, Karin Isaksson and NITL’s Edward Sweeney. Edward presented the original paper at the conference in Naples back in April. The journal version is available at http://arrow.dit.ie/nitlart/33/. The other papers in the special issues are written by scholars from the UK (Cardiff University), France (Audencia Nantes), Brazil (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) and Finland (University of Vaasa). The papers are focused on three particularly critical topics for SMEs - environmental sustainability, interna¬tional sourcing and network governance.
