Supply Chain Management: a cultural perspective

(23 Sep 2013)

NITL has been working to develop interesting and innovative approaches to introducing the fascinating world of supply chain management (SCM) and logistics research and practice to as wide an audience as possible. As part of this work, Edward Sweeney has developed a multimedia presentation which takes a novel look at the subject through the lens of culture and the arts. It features the music of Benjamin Britten (the centenary of whose birth we celebrate this year) performed by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, Rachel Portman's operatic interpretation of the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, some poetry reading by Seamus Heaney was sadly passed away very recently, an excerpt from the film adaptation of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and some music by Pink Floyd! NITL would like to thank Dr. Pauline Rooney of DIT's Learning, Teaching and Technology Centre (LTTC) for her support and patience with this initiative.
