NITL offers its congratulations to the first graduates from the innovative M.Sc. programme in Sustainability, Technology and Innovation.

DIT and its partners in the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona and Purdue University in the US have combined their extensive expertise and experience in the areas of sustainability, technology and innovation to provide a unique opportunity for students from both the EU and the US to study these important areas in an integrated manner at postgraduate level. The programme involves study at Purdue University for two semesters and one semester at both DIT and UPC and leads to the award of two postgraduate degrees for successful students, one from each side of the Atlantic. Foreign language and cultural learning are integral elements of the programme.

The first four graduates from this programme received their DIT M.Sc. degrees at the recent graduation ceremony. NITL is delighted to have contributed to the success of this programme through its academic mentoring of one of the graduates. Frank Palisi’s research was concerned with sustainable purchasing principles in US supply chains and, in particular, the extent to which these are understood and applied in practice. As part of this work, NITL’s Edward Sweeney was appointed a member of the External Faculty in the Technology Leadership and Innovation (TLI) Department at Purdue’s College of Technology.
