Bringing Intelligent Transport to Dynamic Environments

(01 Mar 2011)

The InTraDE project, funded by the EU under the INTERREG IV B programme, contributes to improving the traffic management and space optimisation inside confined space by developing a clean and safe, intelligent transportation system. For further information about the project, in which NITL/DIT is a partner, visit http://www.intrade-nwe.eu/.

The InTraDE project partners would like to invite you to join them at an event that will include a tour of the Port of Dublin to experience a live automated vehicle simulation experiment.

Venue: Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street, Dublin 1.

Date: Wednesday, 30th March 2011

Time: 11.15 until 16:30

The event will disseminate the developments and findings of In-TraDE to as wide an audience as possible including potential commercial clients and operators of the intelligent vehicles.

The event will represent a good opportunity:

• To understand the technical and operational issues of AGVs
• To explore opportunities for this technology in other fields
• To network with businesses in the sector and create the conditions for potential future developments.

The event will focus on showcasing the use of automated vehicles to work in large commercial sites such as ports using a navigation system that is not reliant on ground based infrastructure such as rails, loops etc. It will also bring together businesses and knowledge centres together to explore and discuss the value and growth of automated technology in ports and the logistics industry in Europe.
