Logistics Ireland 2010

LI NAVY RGB 1

The National Institute for Transport and Logistics (NITL) together with conference partners, DIT and CILT, would like to welcome you to Logistics Ireland 2010.

As in previous years, the 2010 event will introduce delegates to key emerging trends in the field.  The theme this year is Dynamic Supply Chain Management and Logistics leading the Recovery.

The focus of Logistics Ireland 2010 is on the achievement of competitiveness through the effective alignment of supply chain activities. The recent economic volatility has provided a fresh impetus in terms of building the necessary supply chain strategic capability in a proactive and focused manner. For this reason Logistics Ireland 2010 focuses on achieving supply chain alignment in building the capability necessary to succeed in this challenging environment.

Supply Chain Management (SCM) has been identified as one of the greatest opportunities for economic growth on the island of Ireland and is concerned with the strategic management of the total supply chain from the sourcing of raw materials through to the final consumer (and with the 'reverse logistics' chain associated with product disposal and recycling). It is particularly important in an Irish context because of the open nature of our economy, the challenges posed by relative geographical peripherality and the potential benefits in terms of cost and customer service.

Recent months have shown some modest signs of economic recovery and a return of business confidence.  However, after the serious contraction of recent years there is still a long way to go before sustainable economic growth becomes a reality. Stabilising the exchequer finances and the creation of a functioning banking sector are important in this regard.  However, it is only through a return to successful export-driven growth that the situation can really be turned around.  Supply chain management has a central role to play in achieving this.

NITL along with conference partners CILT and DIT, will all be on hand to offer their expertise and support to help your business achieve competitiveness through effective SCM

Who will be there?

Strategic decision makers including Managing, Financial, IT and SCM Directors, as well as, Logistics, Material and Purchasing Managers from SMEs and Multinationals across a wide range of sectors, in addition to key policy makers across the island of Ireland

Logistics Ireland 2010 will provide an unrivalled networking opportunity for businesses to meet potential partners, customers and legislators from the island of Ireland.

Logistics Ireland 2010 celebrates the 12th anniversary of NITL with an exciting line up of speakers guaranteeing great benefits to delegates.  This year’s event begins at 8.30 a.m. with the opening welcome and Ministerial Address and will close at 3.00 p.m.
