University of Naples “Federico II” hosts NITL visit

(02 Dec 2008)
Edward Sweeney of NITL is a guest this week at the University of Naples “Federico II” one of the oldest and largest universities in the world.

Frederick II of Hohenstaufen, King of Sicily and Holy Roman Emperor established the University of Naples with an Imperial Charter in June 1224. In recognition of its founder, the university was named “Federico II” in 1987. Today the university offers courses in essentially all academic disciplines, leading to over 150 graduate level degrees. In addition, there is an active research programme across the University’s three academic divisions. In terms of size, current student enrollment is almost 100,000 with an academic staff of over 3,000.

The flagship event during Edward’s visit will be the Italian launch of Perspectives on Supply Chain Management and Logistics (Seminar leaflet). This book was published by Blackhall Publishers in late 2007 and is available at www.blackhallpublishing.com. In addition, work will be carried out on current collaborative research projects in the area of extended enterprise ICT and future collaborative oppotunities will be identified.
