Now in their fifth year, the Irish Logistics and Transport Awards return to celebrate excellence in Ireland's logistics and transport industries under the auspices of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). There is just one week left to submit your entries and NITL urges you to make a submission.

NITL Welcomes New Postgraduate Students

NITL is delighted to welcome the latest cohort to join its award winning postgraduate programmes. Last week saw a group of 16 complete the “Introduction of Supply Chain Management” module. This module provides participants with an overview of both the strategic and operational aspects of the subject.

The award categories cover everything from individual achievements through to main aspects of the industry such as freight forwarding, innovation, technology, safety, environment and education.

Congratulations to All Winners at the Export Awards 2013

National Pen Promotional Products Ltd., Dundalk, Co. Louth won the Irish Exporters Association’s overall Exporter of the Year Award 2013 at a dinner at the Dublin Convention Centre last week. Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade was guest speaker at the ceremony and presented the awards.

Edward Sweeney Joins the Editorial Advisory Board of Leading Journal

The International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management (IJPDLM) has long been an NITL academic journal of choice for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is the longest established journal in the field and has developed a strong track record over the last four decades or so. Secondly, it has a high impact factor relative to comparable academic journals and has been ranked highly in various international ranking processes (e.g. in Germany, France and Australia). Thirdly, and most importantly from NITL’s perspective, IJPDLM has a unique mission which differentiates it from other comparable journals.

Launch Event of NITL Alumni Group

The inaugural event of the recently formed NITL Alumni Group took place in Dublin last week. There was a great turnout of alumni from NITL’s M.Sc. programmes, as well as of current programme participants. The largely informal event facilitated networking amongst supply chain professionals from a wide range of companies and sectors.

Congratulations to Latest Research Graduate

The latest graduates of NITL’s taught M.Sc. programmes were recently conferred with their awards at Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral. In additional to our taught M.Sc. programmes, we also offer structured programmes of research study that lead to award of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees.

The latest graduates from NITL’s postgraduate programmes were conferred with their awards at the DIT graduation ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday. As noted by DIT President Professor Brian Norton during the ceremony, the graduation event is an important day in the academic calendar of DIT but, more importantly, a hugely important milestone in the lives of our graduates.

Launch of NITL Masters Alumni Group – Final Reminder!

As part of our 15th birthday celebrations we are launching the NITL Alumni Group. Membership of this group will be open to all graduates of NITL’s M.Sc. programme in SCM, as well to current course participants.
